As part of a roadway widening project, J&A performed traffic analysis and signalization plans for this state maintained intersection. The design included 4 new signal poles, 65 foot and 75 foot mast arms, new signal controller, and new quadrupole sensor loops. The project was completed on a “fast track” schedule of 3 months.
Project included the evaluation of traffic volumes and patterns, and preparation of recommendations for signalization and intersection improvements into an industrial site. Tasks included: traffic count acquisition, traffic patterns evaluation, traffic signal warrant analysis, recommendations and sketches, and cost estimates.
Preparation of construction plans for improvements of an existing intersection to provide additional capacity and facilitate traffic flow (approximately 900 feet) including widening to a 5 lane section with curb and gutter. Additional tasks included: preparation of legal descriptions and tract maps for approximately 8 parcels, utilities relocation assistance, traffic analysis and signalized intersection design. Estimated Construction Cost: $0.7 million.
